Initial Use
Step 1
Rinse the Case
Wash your hands thoroughly. Rinse the entire inside of the Y‑Tip Case with multipurpose disinfecting solution (MPDS). Discard the rinse.
Step 2
Rinse the Y-Tip Applicator
Remove Y-Tip from blister. Rinse the tips. Fill the case basin with MPDS to fully cover the tips. Close the lid and soak.
Step 3
Tweezer Handling
Keep Tweezer in its blister until use. Check for debris before each use. Rinse with MPDS if needed. Store in the Tweezer Case or a clean, dry place.
Insertion of Contact Lenses
Step 1
Take the disinfected Y-Tip out of the applicator case. Hold it between thumb and index fingers, tips up.
Step 2
Use the Transfer Tweezer to pick up your lens. Check for debris and rinse if needed.
Step 3
Place the lens between the Y-Tip arms. Gently pinch to secure it.
Step 4
Use one hand to pull down the lower lid and the other to lift the upper lid to secure your eyelids open.
Use the Y-Tip to place the lens onto the eye. Gently open the tips to release the lens onto your eye.
Repeat Steps 2–5 for the other eye.
Step 5
Empty the used MPDS. Refill the basin with fresh MPDS and submerge the tips. Store the Tweezer in a clean place.
Removal of Contact Lenses
Step 1
Take the disinfected Y-Tip out of the applicator case. Hold with tips up.
Step 2
Hold your eyelids open. Place the Y-Tip in the open position onto the lens and pinch gently to remove from the eye.
Step 3
Follow lens care guidelines or discard if disposable. Repeat for the other eye.
Step 4
Empty the used MPDS, refill with fresh MPDS, and submerge the tips for disinfection. Close the lid.
Care and Maintenance
Deep Clean (Weekly)
Wash your hands thoroughly. Wet the Y-Tip tips with MPDS and rub each tip for 20 seconds. Rinse for 5 seconds using MPDS. Refill the basin and submerge the tips for disinfection.
When starting a new Y-Tip (replace every 30 days), rinse the case interior with MPDS (Step 1 of Initial Use).
Replacement Schedule
Replace the Y-Tip every 30 days, and the case and tweezer every 90 days. If damaged, replace immediately. Order replacements at optodex.com.
